Ferrari F12 berlinetta

Revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari F12berlinetta filled the shoes of the 599 GTB as the marque’s flagship front-mid-engine V12 grand tourer, and in just five years on the market it collected both Top Gear’s “Supercar of the Year” title and an International Engine of the Year Award.
Design and Engineering
At 4.62 m long, 1.94 m wide and just 1.27 m tall, the F12 packages its big V12 far enough aft to achieve classic grand-tourer proportions while keeping frontal mass in check. Aluminium-intensive construction keeps weight down to 1 525 kg, a 70 kg improvement over its predecessor.
Powertrain
The car carries a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 that was commended in two categories at the 2013 International Engine of the Year Awards. Output figures are not quoted in the source material, but the unit drives the rear wheels and provides enough thrust for an independently verified 340 km/h top speed.
Production Timeline
The F12berlinetta entered production for the 2013 model year, directly replacing the 599 GTB Fiorano. After four model years, Ferrari phased it out in early 2017, handing the flagship GT mantle to the 812 Superfast.
