Unveiled on the 2019 Geneva Motor Show stand, the Ferrari F8 Tributo became the immediate follow-on to the 488 and, in Ferrari’s own words, a tribute to 45 years of mid-mounted V8 sports cars.
Design
Stretching 4611 mm long and only 1206 mm tall, the F8 Tributo sits 34 mm lower and 39 mm longer than the 488 on which it is based, while the 1979 mm overall width creates a wide, planted stance. Sharper S-Duct aero elements and a Lexan rear screen with twin flying buttresses channel air efficiently without adding drag.
Performance
Curb mass is quoted at just 1405 kg, undercutting the 488 GTB by –40 kg. Mid-ship V8 output is carried over from the 488 Pista, so the car dispatches 0-100 km/h in 2.9 s and passes 340 km/h flat out. Launch and Fiorano lap times place it firmly among the quickest road-going Ferraris of the Maranello era.
Generations & Positioning
Introduced for 2019 with no direct predecessor named in the source, the F8 Tributo occupies the core mid-engine V8 rung between the 296 GTB hybrid V6 and the front-engined V12 grand tourers. A track-focused F8 Spider and the Pista-based 488 GT3 Evo offer racing continuity.
