Debuting in 2015, the Daihatsu Cast is a modern kei car that replaced the Daihatsu Naked with three distinct personality packages: Style, Activa and Sport. Its 3395 mm footprint keeps it firmly within Japan’s strict kei-car regulations while offering front- or four-wheel drive for urban agility.
Design & Dimensions
Measuring 3395 mm long, 1475 mm wide and 1600 mm tall, the Cast stays precisely within kei-car limits. The three named trims—Style, Activa, Sport—dress the same boxy body in different attitude packages, from practical to pseudo-rugged to mini-hot-hatch.
Variations & Driveline
Every Cast can be ordered with either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, allowing buyers to match their driving environment—tight city streets or snowy back roads—without stepping up to a larger vehicle.
Position in Daihatsu Lineage
The Cast arrived in 2015 as the direct successor to the short-lived Daihatsu Naked and, after one generation, handed the baton to the Daihatsu Taft (LA900) for 2020.
