From 2016 to 2020, Ferrari offered the GTC4Lusso—a four-seat grand tourer that replaced the polarizing FF and carried the torch for all-weather, family-sized Ferraris with shooting-brake proportions.
History
At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show Ferrari unveiled the GTC4Lusso as the direct successor to the 2011–2016 Ferrari FF. The new name (Lusso = luxury) signalled a clearer focus on grand-touring comfort without diluting Ferrari’s performance remit, completing the lineage of Maranello’s rare 2-door, four-seat shooting brake models.
Design & Dimensions
Parked next to more conventional sports cars, the GTC4Lusso stretches 4,922 mm long, spans 1,980 mm wide and sits a low 1,383 mm tall—no compact family car, yet compact enough for tight European roads. Its long hatch roofline and four-seat cabin return disproportionate cargo space by Ferrari standards, while the muscular rear haunches underline its all-wheel-drive platform roots inherited from the FF.
Legacy
With production ending in 2020 and no announced replacement, the GTC4Lusso bookends Ferrari’s 2010s experiment in combining genuine four-adult practicality with V12 thunder and tail-happy playfulness. Today it remains a niche choice among collectors seeking a Ferrari that can cross continents and still fit weekend luggage for four.
