Introduced at the 2004 Paris Motor Show and produced from 2004 through 2009, the Ferrari F430 replaced the 360 Modena while setting the stage for the 458 Italia. Roughly 16,750 examples left Maranello before the line was shut down.
Design and Engineering
Visually the F430 moved the wedge profile of the 360 forward with sharper surfacing and larger air intakes. Underneath, race-style brake cooling gills, a flat undertray and a redesigned rear diffuser contributed to improved downforce. Classic Ferrari cues—round taillights and the egg-crate grille—were brought back in a thoroughly modern form.
Dimensions and Weight
At 4,512 mm long, 1,923 mm wide and just 1,214 mm tall, the F430 sits low and wide. Curb weight was held to 1,450 kg, keeping it competitive against contemporaries such as the Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche 997 Turbo.
Production & Succession
Between 2005 and 2009 approximately 16,750 units rolled off the line, spanning coupé, Spider, and high-performance Scuderia/16M derivatives. On 28 July 2009 the 458 Italia took over, marking an end to the naturally aspirated, mid-engined V8 lineage before turbocharging arrived.
