Development & Generations
Replacing the Ferrari 456, the 612 Scaglietti’s longer 4.9 m envelope was shaped primarily by the need for usable rear-seat space, marking Ferrari’s most serious attempt yet at a true four-seat grand tourer. The single generation ran unchanged from 2003 to 2011, after which it gave way to the all-wheel-drive Ferrari FF.
Design & Dimensions
Penned with a longer wheelbase and higher roofline than the 456 it replaced, the 612 stretches 4 902 mm in length and 1 957 mm in width yet stands just 1 344 mm high, keeping the proportions classic while clearing headroom for adult rear passengers. With a curb mass of 1 875 kg, the body is clad entirely in aluminum for both strength and lightness.
Performance
Beneath the long bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 5.7-litre V12 whose 540 bhp catapults the aluminum coupe to an official 315 km/h top speed—figures that set the benchmark for four-seat Ferraris until the FF arrived.
