Built for the 2015 spy thriller Spectre, the Aston Martin DB10 is a one-off grand tourer that briefly stood between the DB9 and the production-bound DB11. Its starring role as James Bond’s car instantly put it on bedroom posters worldwide.
Creation for Spectre
Aston Martin and the Bond production team collaborated to craft ten working DB10s—eight stunt cars, two hero models—at Gaydon in just six months. The elongated silhouette and aggressive vents were styled specifically to lengthen Bond’s on-screen presence and house custom stunt gear, not road-legal regulations.
Design & Dimensions
At 4 410 mm long, 1 934 mm wide and only 1 250 mm tall, the DB10 sits lower and shorter than any of Aston’s everyday GTs. Carbon-fiber panels shave mass to around 1 500 kg, while the signature swan doors hint at the forthcoming DB11. Proportionally, the cab-rear stance and stretched bonnet form the purest long-hood silhouette Aston has produced this century.
Production Cars & Fate
Aston never homologated the DB10 for sale; all ten examples remain studio property. One starred at London’s 2015 SPECTRE premiere, another was auctioned by Christie’s for charity in 2016 (selling for £2.4 million), and the crash-scene wrecks reside in EON Productions’ archive.
Legacy
The DB10 acted as a rolling design study for the DB11, previewing its grille surfacing, headlamp graphics and interior switchgear months ahead of the official reveal. It also set a template for Aston Martin to create future screen-only hero cars, influencing the Valhalla/DBS styling direction and cementing the brand’s modern Bond lineage.
