Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini Veneno is an ultra-rare birthday gift from Sant’Agata to itself: a street-legal, track-sharpened spin-off of the Aventador built in exactly three customer cars and one factory demonstrator to mark the marque’s 50th anniversary.
Origins & Purpose
Lamborghini conceived the Veneno strictly to commemorate five decades since its founding. Built as a direct successor to the sharply angular Reventón, the car translates the Aventador’s carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and 6.5-litre V12 into an even more potent and theatrical form, while remaining fully road-legal in Europe.
Design & Aerodynamics
Every panel is shaped for function before style: a vented front clamshell channels air over the splitter, a central fin stabilizes high-speed yaw, and a giant adjustable rear wing pins the rear axle. The extreme proportions—5.02 m long, 2.08 m wide but only 1.16 m tall—are sculpted from carbon-fiber reinforced polymer, keeping mass to just 1 450 kg.
Production & Price
Only four units exist: three coupes finished in matte grey, red and green (signifying the Italian flag) plus the prototype kept by Lamborghini. Each carried an original sticker of US$4,000,000, instantly positioning the Veneno among the most expensive production cars ever offered to the public.
