Introduced on 4 November 1992, the Honda Domani was a compact four-door developed amid Honda’s partnership with Rover, slotting between the Concerto it replaced and the later City.
History & Market
Born from the late-1980s Rover–Honda collaboration, the Domani arrived in Japan and select East-Asian markets as the direct successor to the Concerto. While the Concerto lingered in Europe until 1995, Honda quickly consolidated its compact line around the Domani before handing the baton again to the City at the end of the 1990s.
Dimensions & Design
Built on a shared platform enriched by Rover expertise, the Domani’s footprint measured 4,415 mm long, 1,695 mm wide and 1,410 mm tall—dimensions that delivered family-car practicality within Japanese size regulations. Its understated styling echoed Honda’s early-1990s form language, balanced by European-influenced proportions.
