Introduced as the tenth-generation Honda Accord, this mid-size sedan moved Honda’s best-selling nameplate onto a new lightweight platform that delivered noticeably more interior stretch and crisper proportions than its already popular ninth-generation predecessor.
Design
With an overall length of 4 893 mm, width of 1 862 mm and height of just 1 449 mm, the tenth-generation Accord adopts a fast-back roofline and shorter overhangs, trading traditional three-box sedan cues for a sportier, almost lift-back silhouette that frees up rear-seat head-room despite the lower roof.
Platform
Built on Honda’s new global architecture, the body structure sheds significant weight while increasing torsional rigidity. The stretched wheelbase and wider track push the wheels to the corners, improving ride stability and freeing cabin space in a footprint barely larger than the outgoing model.
Generations in Context
Following the conservative ninth-generation Accord (2012-2017), the tenth iteration launched for model-year 2018 with no direct successor announced so far, making it the current and longest-running Accord generation since the badge debuted in 1976.
