The Ferrari 599 SA Aperta is a rare, open-top variant of the 599 lineage built in extremely limited numbers to commemorate the 80th anniversary of long-time Ferrari design partner Pininfarina. With its 661 bhp V12, it delivers signature Ferrari GT pace without a fixed roof.
Design and Open-Air Engineering
By lopping the roof from the 599 GTB Fiorano yet keeping chassis rigidity nearly intact, Ferrari created the SA Aperta: a low-slung roadster with a shortened, more steeply raked windshield and twin roll hoops behind the seats. The body is finished only in specific anniversary colors—often tri-coat Rosso or dark Nero with contrasting Blu accents—that nod to Pininfarina’s traditional palette.
Performance Specs
At its heart sits a 6.0-litre naturally-aspirated V12 producing 493 kW (661 bhp) and 620 N⋅m of torque, routed through Ferrari’s six-speed automated manual gearbox mounted at the rear axle for ideal weight distribution. The sprint to 100 km/h is dispatched in roughly 3.6 seconds, and top speed is quoted at over 325 km/h even with the roof stowed.
Limited Production & Rarity
Only 80 examples were produced—one for each year of Pininfarina’s relationship with Ferrari—and each was pre-sold to existing Ferrari collectors. Badging reads "SA" in tribute to Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, making this one of the least numerous open V12 Ferraris of the modern era.
