Launched after Chrysler absorbed the remnants of Chalmers Automobile, the B-70 became the marque’s first compact car positioned between mainstream price brackets and established the groundwork that would evolve into the G-70.

Released in the mid-1920s as the immediate replacement for the discontinued Chalmers nameplate, the B-70 was Chrysler’s first deliberate move into the compact segment. Its shorter 4 064 mm length made it markedly smaller than contemporary American full-size offerings, signaling a new product tier and foreshadowing Chrysler’s ambition to offer buyers a more city-friendly, economical choice.
