Debuted at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show, the Chery A13 (also marketed as Fulwin 2) stepped in as Chery’s new subcompact after the A15 Cowin. It remained the brand’s entry-level offering until subsequent models took its place in the mid-2010s.
Design & Dimensions
With a width of 1 686 mm and height of 1 492 mm, the A13 presents a classic tall-boy hatchback silhouette intended for crowded Chinese city streets. The low curb weight of around 1 200 kg contributed to nimble handling and respectable fuel economy for its class.
Generations & Updates
The initial 2008 model carried forward the simple front-wheel-drive architecture established by the A15 Cowin. Four years later, at the 2012 Guangzhou Auto Show, Chery unveiled a facelift that added a new grille, updated lighting units, and refreshed interior trim—extending the line’s market life without altering the underlying platform.
Market Position & Legacy
Slotting below the larger A3 and Tiggo crossovers, the A13 (Fulwin 2) gave Chery a competitive product in China’s rapidly growing affordable-car segment. While never exported in large numbers, its lifecycle illustrates Chery’s fast model-refresh cadence typical of Chinese domestics during the early 2010s.
