Launched in 2013, the Chery Arrizo 7 is the mid-size sedan that replaced the aging Chery Eastar and introduced a more refined design language before yielding to the modern Arrizo GX. It marked a turning point for Chery as the brand sought to move upmarket in the Chinese passenger-car segment.
Background
Developed to succeed the Eastar, the Arrizo 7 debuted in 2013 as Chery’s flagship four-door. Its role was to entice buyers looking for a larger footprint without venturing into premium brand pricing. Positioned between the compact Arrizo 5 and the eventual Arrizo GX, it filled the mid-size gap during a period when Chery was sharpening its design and quality strategy.
Dimensions & Design
With a length of 4,652 mm and a width of 1,825 mm, the Arrizo 7 rides on proportions that rival many rivals in its class. A height of 1,483 mm gives it a low, streamlined profile that was deliberately crafted to reduce visual bulk while boosting interior headroom over the preceding Eastar.
Evolution
Production continued steadily into the early 2020s. By 2018 the line-up began shifting toward the Arrizo GX, yet the Arrizo 7 remained on sale in various regional markets, acting as a cost-effective mid-size choice slightly below its successor.
