Concept & Reveal
BMW chose CES 2023 in Las Vegas to pull the wraps off i Vision Dee. Designed under the brand’s i electric sub-brand, the prototype used the event’s gadget-centric crowd to spotlight advanced human-machine interfaces and color-changing E Ink body panels that can cycle between 32 hues at the tap of a button.
Design
The car adopts a low, four-door sports-sedan silhouette with Hofmeister kink detailing rendered in full-width LED lighting. Doors and headlights sit flush, while panels coated in programmable e-paper allow drivers to alter graphics instantly for personalization that extends well beyond traditional paint.
From Show Car to Reality
BMW explicitly linked i Vision Dee to a future production model set for launch in 2025. While final specifications remain undisclosed, the company calls the concept the ‘mood board’ for its next-generation Neue Klasse electric platform, confirming that the aesthetic and user-interface innovations will carry over nearly intact.
