The Bentley Brooklands badge has graced two different flagship saloons built by the British marque between 1992 and 1998. The original Brooklands picked up where the aging Mulsanne left off, bridging classic Bentley values with late-20th-century refinement before handing the baton to the all-new Arnage.
Brief history
Launched in 1992, the first-generation Brooklands was Bentley’s answer to the Mulsanne’s successor requirement. Positioned as a traditional full-size luxury saloon, it served as the marque’s range-topping car until 1998, when the technically advanced Bentley Arnage replaced it and ushered in a new era of British super-saloons.
Design and size
Drawing on long, unbroken bonnet and formal three-box proportions, the Brooklands offered generous interior space while keeping exterior footprint manageable for chauffeur-driven use. At 1 885 mm across the beam and 1 485 mm tall, the car sat low and wide, emphasising presence without resorting to overt ornamentation.
