What Changed in 2018
Replacing the 2005–2017 Vantage after a dozen model seasons, the new series landed with a longer wheelbase and squatter proportions. Stretching 4,465 mm nose-to-tail and riding just 1,273 mm high, it trades retro silhouettes for assertive curves that echo recent Aston design language while retaining unmistakable road presence.
Design & Size
Measuring 1,942 mm across the hips on a 1,530 kg footprint, the Vantage looks wide-shouldered without resorting to excess bulk. Flush handles, curved glass, and an enlarged grille mark a significant shift from the older model’s cleaner lines, pointing to both aero efficiency and contemporary identity.
Positioning
In Aston Martin’s line-up, the Vantage plays the ‘accessible’ Grand Tourer slot, positioned below the DB11 yet always tasked with delivering sports-car urgency. Although globally available, it solidifies the British marque’s strategy to compete against Porsche 911 Turbos and Mercedes-AMG GTs.
Legacy Notes
Nearly seven years in, this Vantage continues with no announced successor, keeping pressure on the 2005–2017 model’s cult following to recognise a new benchmark within the same nameplate.
