Lancia Hyena

Built in tiny numbers by Zagato during the mid-1990s, the Lancia Hyena re-bodied the already swift Delta HF Integrale into a bespoke, retro-flavored sports coupe aimed at collectors.
Design
Zagato’s Milan studio retained the Delta’s mechanical heart but wrapped it in an aluminum body that combined a low, wedged nose with a classic double-bubble Zagato roofline and Kamm-tail rear. The flush glass, lack of side rubbing strips and optional two-tone paint served notice that this Integrale wore haute couture, not rally livery.
Production
Only 24 examples were produced between 1992 and 1996 after Zagato pitched the idea to Lancia and Fiat—both declined mass production—then purchased Integrale Evo donor cars directly from customers. Chassis numbers are stamped on separate Zagato plates mounted in the engine bay, with each car individually trimmed to order.
Legacy
The Hyena is remembered as one of the last hand-built Lancias, an odd footnote where rally bones met Italian coachbuilt glamour. Survivors appear at concours events and Zagato gatherings, prized for their rarity and instantly recognizable silhouette.
