Built for one decade and never replaced by a direct second generation, the Kia Venga rode the wave of compact MPVs that flourished in the late 2000s. Production began in 2009 and quietly wound down in 2019, making way for crossover-flavored models like the Stonic. Positioned as the step-up from the discontinued Heart, it stayed true to its high-roof roots throughout its nine-year lifespan.
Design & Dimensions
At 4 075 mm long, 1 765 mm wide and 1 600 mm tall, the Venga sacrifices length for height, squeezing micro-van space into a footprint barely longer than a supermini. That upright roofline translates to upright seating, sliding rear doors on most trims, and a flat cargo floor behind the split-fold rear bench—features that distinguish it from conventional hatchbacks of the same era.
Legacy
While Kia never replicated the Venga formula, the model remains a last-of-its-kind within the brand: a compact, mono-box MPV aimed directly at European cities. Its decade-long sales span proves the niche still had buyers, even as crossovers began to dominate.
