Infiniti Q50

Born at the 2013 Detroit auto show, the Infiniti Q50 immediately replaced the well–known G sedan and became Infiniti’s first truly global compact executive car, sold everywhere from North America to Europe.
Design & Dimensions
With a clean, wave-language sheet-metal treatment, the Q50 stretches 4 790 mm long yet spans only 1 825 mm across the hips, giving it a slightly lower stance than most mid-size Germans. Inside, a twin-screen centre stack—a first for Nissan’s luxury arm—anchors a cockpit aimed squarely at tech-minded buyers.
Engineering DNA
Beneath the skin the Q50 shares structural hard points with the domestic-market V37 Nissan Skyline, ensuring it carries forward the rear-drive architecture enthusiasts associated with the G. This also allowed global launch with both quattro-style all-wheel and conventional rear-drive configurations.
Global Roll-out
Production started on two continents: Nissan lines in Tochigi, Japan feed North American demand, while Dongfeng Nissan handles additional volume for Asia and Europe. Dealers in North America took deliveries late summer 2013; European showrooms opened by October that same year.
Market Position
Slotting just under the larger Q70, the Q50 reclaimed Infiniti volume leadership in North America by its second model year, effectively retiring the final sedan versions of the G range and cementing the new ‘Q’ naming scheme launched alongside the brand’s 2014 refresh.
