HPD ARX-03

Honda Performance Development unleashed the HPD ARX-03 family for the 2012 season, giving privateer teams a purpose-built weapon for both the LMP1 and LMP2 classes at Le Mans and beyond.
Engineering Choices
Three chassis variants share the same 4 650 mm carbon monocoque but diverge at the powertrain. The ARX-03a packs a naturally-aspirated Honda V8 for LMP1 combat, while the ARX-03b swaps in a turbocharged Honda V6 sized for LMP2 regulations. A less-documented ARX-03c later appeared as an evolution mule.
Season Debut
For 2012, five customer teams lined up. Muscle Milk Pickett Racing ran an ARX-03a in the American Le Mans Series, Level 5 Motorsports entered two ARX-03bs, and Strakka Racing, JRM Racing and Starworks Motorsport fielded single cars across both FIA World Endurance Championship categories.
Two-Year Campaign
The ARX-03 stayed eligible only through 2013, making it a short-lived but intense chapter for HPD. Despite limited factory support, the cars logged podiums and class wins at Sebring, Silverstone, Petit Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, proving the package could punch above its privateer status.
