Slotting neatly between the City and Civic, the Honda Grace is a compact four-door sedan that quietly replaced the Fit Aria in Honda’s line-up. Despite its understated presence, buyers got City-like efficiency with a slightly larger footprint and discreetly upscale styling.
Background & Positioning
Introduced after the Fit Aria was retired, the Grace is marketed in Japan and selected Asian markets as a premium-feeling small sedan. It combines Honda’s compact-car running gear with a longer, more formal body to compete with Toyota’s Belta/Platz and other entry-luxury sub-compacts.
Design & Dimensions
At 4 440 mm long, the Grace sits 185 mm longer than the contemporary Honda Fit hatchback that contributes its platform. The 1 695 mm width and 1 475 mm height place it firmly in the sub-compact class, but extended rear overhangs give it a traditional three-box profile with a clear trunk line rather than a lift-back.
Significance
Little promoted in Europe or North America, the Grace nonetheless filled a strategic gap for buyers wanting sedan practicality without stepping up to a larger, costlier Civic. Its modern interior architecture and global-fit hybrid powertrains (where offered) previewed features that later spread across Honda’s wider range.
