Lincoln launched the MKZ for the 2005 model year to replace the aging Lincoln LS, entering the mid-size luxury market with a front- or all-wheel-drive sedan that has stayed on sale ever since.
History
The MKZ debuted in 2005 as a direct successor to the Lincoln LS and shared its development with the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan. Lincoln has marketed it in North America and, from 2015 through 2020, in China.
Design & Engineering
Built on the same CD3 platform that underpins the Fusion, the MKZ offers either gasoline or gasoline-electric hybrid powertrains. Its 4,820 mm length positions it between compact and full-size luxury sedans.
