History
From its 1965 launch the Transit was engineered as a universal tool for tradespeople and fleet operators. It quickly replaced an array of separate European vans, evolving through four basic platform generations marked by periodic facelifts to keep pace with safety, emissions and payload demands. Badge-engineered variants carrying the T-Series name helped the platform stay relevant across regions.
Configurations
Beyond the familiar panel van, Ford has spun the Transit into a full passenger wagon, a cutaway chassis for motorhomes and minibuses, and even a pickup truck.
