Unveiled in 2017, the Citroën C3 Aircross is the French marque’s first-generation compact crossover tailored for the B-SUV segment. Built on the PF1 platform shared with the regular C3 hatch, it scrambled the styling playbook with a tall stance, Airbump panels and optional two-tone roofs.
Design & Styling
At 4160 mm long, the C3 Aircross sits between supermini and full crossover size. Designers stretched the wheelbase to 2604 mm while raising ground clearance to 180 mm, fusing SUV practicality with city-friendly footprint. Customisation is a selling point: 85 two-tone roof combinations and four contrasting Airbump colours allow buyers to swap body cladding without workshop tools.
Powertrain
Launch engines ranged from the 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder turbo (82–131 PS) to the 1.6-litre BlueHDi four-cylinder diesels (102–120 PS) and, in emerging markets, a naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre MPI. All front wheels were driven via 5- or 6-speed manuals or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic.
Global footprint
Europe received the car first, followed rapidly by Latin American CKD production from the Porto Real plant in Brazil and CKD assembly in India for the ‘C3 Aircross SUV’. These regional variants differ subtly in bumpers, emissions mapping and infotainment, but the 4160 mm length remains uniform.
