Dodge Viper (VX I)

Unveiled in 2012 for the 2013 model year, the Dodge Viper VX I was the definitive and final act of an American super-sports-car dynasty built by Chrysler’s SRT division.
Last-Gen Redesign
The VX I arrived as the fifth iteration of the Viper, marketed briefly as the SRT Viper in 2013–2014. Every panel and system was reworked: the front-end gained a lower splitter, the tail carried a functional venturi, and the chassis acquired multi-mode traction control and anti-lock brakes for the first time—compliance moves that kept the Viper legal on modern roads.
Performance Package
At 4.46 m long, 1.94 m wide and only 1.25 m tall, the coupe weighed 1 521 kg yet slipped through the air well enough to hit 335 km/h—unchallenged top-dog territory for any contemporary American production car.
Farewell in 2017
Production wrapped in August 2017. With it went the last hand-built, V-10-powered two-seater from Chrysler, ending a lineage that began in 1992 and capping 25 years of the Viper nameplate.
