Reminiscent of the cheeky Smart Fortwo yet distinctly Chinese, the Chery QQme carved out a micro-niche when it launched in 2009 as one of the smallest four-seat cars to ever wear a Chery badge.
History
Chery Automobile rolled out the QQme in early 2009, positioning it as a fashion-forward addition to the longer-running QQ family. Sales lasted only three model years, with production quietly ending in 2011 and no direct successor announced.
Design & Dimensions
At just 3.75 m long and 1.6 m wide, the QQme makes a virtue of its tiny footprint. A rounded, almost toy-car profile with wraparound glass is broken up by bold front and rear chevron-shaped lamps, giving the two-door hatchback an unmistakable face on crowded city streets.
Performance
Power came from a modest engine tuned for economy rather than speed; Chery quotes a top speed of 167 km/h—enough for highway sprints yet clearly optimized for dense urban traffic.
