Riley Nine

History
Riley launched the Nine to replace the earlier Riley 10, seeking a lighter, more affordable sporting car for the inter-war market. Over a production span stretching from 1926 to 1938, the company maintained continuous small-batch output, adapting the design to evolving tastes rather than replacing it outright.
Design & Body Styles
Despite a compact 1448 mm track width, Riley offered more than a dozen distinct body styles on the Nine chassis—tourers, saloons, fabric-bodied saloons, and racy two-seaters—letting buyers tailor the same mechanical package to anything from family transport to weekend competition.
Legacy
After the model ceased production in 1938 with no direct successor, the Riley Nine’s longevity and variety left a lasting influence on British small-cars. Surviving examples are pillars of vintage rallies and concours fields, frequently praised for their balance of light weight and spirited performance.
