Unveiled as Aston Martin’s first sport-utility vehicle, the DBX arrived for the 2020 model year, stretching the brand’s traditional sports-car focus over a five-meter crossover.
Design
At 5039 mm long, 1998 mm wide and 1680 mm tall, the DBX seats five with a fastback roofline that echoes Aston Martin’s GT silhouette. Its proportions make it the largest vehicle the company has ever built, while contour-hinting wheel arches and the signature grille root it firmly in the marque’s visual language.
Engineering
Under a bonded-aluminum architecture the DBX carries 2245 kg yet claims a top speed of 292 km/h, placing it among the swiftest production SUVs on sale. Adaptive triple-chamber air suspension and electronic active anti-roll bars balance ride comfort against dynamic control.
Production
The four-door crossover was engineered at Aston Martin’s St Athan facility in Wales, repurposed specifically to manufacture its inaugural SUV.
Legacy
By entering the luxury-crossover segment—a first for the 1913-founded British marque—the DBX has expanded global reach and underpinned the company’s revenue during a shift toward high-riding vehicles.
