Acura RDX
როცა გასული საუკუნის ბოლოში საწვავის ფასი მიწას კაფავდა, Acura-ს ერთადერთი SUV, SLX, კიდევ ერთხელ ცხრილიდან გაირბინა. ისტორია
გასული საუკუნის ბოლოს SLX წავიდა (იმავე Izuzu Trooper-ის რებეჯი შაჰიდისფრად), აი, 1999-იდან 2005-ის ჩათვლით ფირმას მცირე SUV აღარ ჰქონდა. 2006-ის ნიუ-იორკში Acura-მ რევოლუცია გამოაცხადა: ახალი RDX, რომელიც მაგდის (MDX) ქვემოთ დაჯდება. შენადგურება Civic/CR-V-ის პლათფორმაზეა, ფასიც 33 ათასია ფულის ქვეშ, გაყიდვების სტარტი აგვისტო 2006, 2007 მოდელი უკვე ჩვენში.

Launched for the 2007 model year, the Acura RDX put Acura’s first turbocharged engine into a sub-compact luxury SUV aimed squarely at young premium buyers. Against the backdrop of rising fuel costs and waning SLX sales, it gave Acura a modern, car-based crossover answer.
History
With predecessor Acura SLX (a rebadged Isuzu Trooper) retired in 1999, Acura had no small SUV for six years. Enter the RDX, announced at the 2006 New York show and sold from mid-2006—Acura’s first compact offering after the larger MDX. Built on the Civic/CR-V platform, it opened US dealerships in August 2006 as a 2007 model, priced to slot beneath the three-row MDX.
Design
The original RDX wore Acura’s sharp-edge “power plenum” shield grille flanked by projector headlamps, while a steep rear roofline kept the silhouette smaller than the mid-size MDX. Inside, leather, aluminum trim, and Acura’s first i-Drive style controller displayed the brand’s push toward tech-laden interiors.
Performance
To launch the lightweight RDX, Acura introduced its first turbo four—a 2.3-litre i-VTEC rated around 240 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque—paired to a paddle-shifted 5-speed automatic and available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). The combination gave sports-sedan acceleration while maintaining the CR-V’s tidy footprint.
Legacy
By popularizing turbocharging and living solely on car-derived underpinnings, the RDX foreshadowed the segment’s shift away from body-on-frame layouts. Featured prominently in Acura marketing during the late 2000s, it also cemented Honda Motor’s pivot to premium crossovers that now dominate its US sales mix.
