Launched as an entry-level model in Geely's SUV lineup, the Yuanjing X1 aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and styling cues of a crossover in a smaller, more affordable package. Its size placed it firmly in the mini CUV segment, targeting younger urban drivers in first-tier Chinese cities and expanding Geely’s market reach below the slightly larger Yuanjing X3.
Design Brief
Although detailed specifications are limited, the Yuanjing X1 carried the brand’s early 2010s design language—compact proportions with elevated ground clearance, short overhangs, and an upright stance meant to convey toughness while remaining city-friendly. A modest footprint emphasized maneuverability over outright utility.
End of the Line
In 2020 Geely quietly discontinued the Yuanjing X1, consolidating its crossover offerings around higher-volume models such as the Yuanjing X3, Binyue, and Coolray.
