Geely Emgrand

The Geely Emgrand began life as the Emgrand EC7, produced by Chinese automaker Geely Auto. When Geely dropped the standalone Emgrand marque in 2014, the EC7 was rebranded under the parent company’s name and continued on as the simply badged Geely Emgrand.
Renaming the EC7
Launched under the short-lived Emgrand sub-brand, the EC7 served as the line’s compact sedan offering. After a strategic decision to consolidate brands, Geely retired the Emgrand nameplate in 2014, rolling the model into the core Geely range and updating the badge to read Geely Emgrand.
Position in Geely’s range
The single-name Geely Emgrand slots alongside other Geely-badged passenger cars, representing the firm’s focus on attainable family sedans. It is positioned as a step above entry-level models, offering mid-segment space and features at a lower price point.
