Hongqi resurrected the HQ series name for a people-carrier aimed at VIP shuttle fleets, well-heeled families and government protocol duties inside China. Slotting above the smaller, SUV-style Hongqi E-HS9, the HQ9 is the brand’s first dedicated minivan architecture, broadening a portfolio that has long skewed toward sedans and limousines.
Dimensions and Styling
At 5.22 m long and just over 2 m wide, the HQ9’s footprint matches large North-American MPVs. A high-beltline chrome grille—echoing the Hongqi CA770 of the 1960s—sits flush between LED headlamps, while power-sliding rear doors reveal theater-style seating for up to seven.
