Launched in 2024 under the Chinese carmaker’s fresh Nevo electric marque, the Changan Nevo Deepal E07 is a battery-electric and range-extender mid-size crossover that pushes the brand into Tesla Model Y territory with a plus-sized footprint and dual-motor hardware.
Design & Styling
Parked next to a Model Y, the E07’s 5045 mm length and 1996 mm width make it nearly a full class larger, sitting low at just 1640 mm for a surprisingly sleek roofline. Slim LED light strips front and rear, flush door handles and large-diameter wheels visually shrink the bulk, giving the four-door wagon profile a fastback aesthetic unusual in mainstream Chinese EVs.
Powertrain & Performance
Changan offers the E07 with either a pure battery EV layout or an EREV range-extender system—both built on the firm’s dedicated EPA platform. Dual motors source an 800-volt architecture enabling rapid 4C charging, while the EREV version adds a 1.5-litre petrol engine acting solely as a generator to extend real-world touring range.
Market Launch & Positioning
After appearing at domestic motor shows in mid-2024, Changan put the Nevo E07 on sale in China first, positioning it as a tech-forward family crossover targeted above the smaller E5. No export plans have been confirmed, but the E07’s scale and specification signal Changan’s intent to compete head-on with BYD Tang EV and NIO ES6 on home turf.
