Announced in 2024 and reaching showrooms by April 2025, the BYD Fangchengbao Ti3 stakes out new ground for the Chinese maker by debuting a pure-electric drivetrain under the recently established Fangchengbao marque.
Brand & Positioning
Fangchengbao (meaning “Leopard in the City”) was launched by BYD in 2023 to house more rugged, lifestyle-oriented vehicles pitched between everyday commuters and serious off-roaders. The Ti3 is the first model to swap plug-in hybrid hardware—the hallmark of the existing “Bao” family—for a fully battery-electric platform.
Design & Dimensions
With a length of 4605 mm, width of 1900 mm, and an almost square stance at 1720 mm tall, the Ti3 occupies compact-crossover footprint proportions yet carries significant visual mass; curb weight is rated at 2150 kg, reflecting its battery pack and robust body structure.
Introduction Timeline
BYD previewed the Ti3 in late 2024 ahead of a market launch timed for April 2025. No predecessor model exists: the Ti3 effectively charts a fresh electrification path for Fangchengbao while setting template dimensions and naming conventions for the planned “Tai/Ti” EV lineage.
