BYD’s Fangchengbao Bao 8 is the biggest SUV yet from the upmarket Fangchengbao sub-brand, launched as a plug-in hybrid flagship that spans a stretched 5.2 m body. Abroad it is marketed as the Denza B8.
Positioning
The Bao 8 sits at the top of the Fangchengbao line-up, directly above the mid-size Bao 5. In export markets the same vehicle is rebranded Denza B8, positioning it within BYD’s luxury Denza portfolio rather than the rugged-oriented Fangchengbao family.
Dimensions
Its full-size footprint measures 5 195 mm long and 1 994 mm wide, placing it in the same size league as full-fat American and European large luxury SUVs. Despite these generous exterior numbers, hybrid packaging allows BYD to maintain three rows of seating while still leaving cargo space for family or adventure use.
