The BYD e2 is a battery-electric compact hatchback engineered by Chinese automaker BYD Auto. It fills the affordable EV city-car niche and has a sedan twin called the BYD e3.
Design & Body Style
With a tidy 4 240 mm overall length, the e2 adopts a four-door hatchback silhouette optimized for crowded urban streets. Clean surfacing and pronounced shoulders hint at its electric architecture while preserving usable seating for five. The companion BYD e3 sedan shares the platform but swaps the rear hatch for a conventional trunk lid, giving buyers a notchback alternative without leaving the e-series family.
Variants & Overview
Marketed simply as the BYD e2, the model itself has no formal predecessor or successor in BYD’s literature. Within the e-line, the e3 sedan variant expands the reach to consumers who prefer three-box proportions.
