Audi Q8

Launched in 2018, the Audi Q8 is the brand’s largest and most luxurious SUV, taking the top position in Audi’s crossover range and slotting above the Q7. Built at Volkswagen’s Bratislava plant, the Q8 combines coupé-like proportions with full-size SUV presence.
Position and Purpose
Audi introduced the Q8 as the flagship of its SUV portfolio, offering buyers a more style-focused alternative to the three-row Q7. Its short rear overhang, wide stance and swept-back roofline target the booming luxury-coupe SUV segment pioneered by BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Engineering Numbers
The Q8 stretches 4.99 m long and 2.00 m wide yet stands just 1.71 m tall, proportions that lower visual mass compared to traditional SUVs. A kerb weight of 2 145 kg underpins quattro all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension systems designed to balance comfort and agility.
Production and Markets
All units are assembled at the Volkswagen Bratislava Plant in Slovakia, alongside the Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus. Since its 2018 debut the model has rolled out to Europe, North America and Asia in both gasoline and later mild-hybrid V6 variants.
