Audi Q3 Sportback

Slotting into Audi’s line-up as the coupé-roof companion to the regular Q3, the Q3 Sportback brings sleeker styling to the compact-luxury-SUV segment and has been on sale globally from the 2020 model year onward. Its lowered roofline and reshaped rear pillars give buyers a sportier silhouette without sacrificing the raised driving position that defines a crossover.
Design
Compared with the upright Q3, the Sportback gains a 30 mm lower roofline, tapering rear glass, and a more raked D-pillar. Audi complements the roof change with wider wheel-arch trims, standard LED lighting signatures, and an optional S-line package that adds deeper front and rear bumpers plus larger 19- to 21-inch wheels.
Performance
Engine choice mirrors the normal Q3, ranging from a 150 PS 1.5-litre TFSI to a 230 PS 2.0-litre TFSI in the flagship 45 TFSI quattro. A 48-volt mild-hybrid system can cut fuel consumption by up to 0.4 l/100 km on overrun, while S tronic dual-clutch gearboxes send power to either the front axle or Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system depending on spec.
Generations & Variants
Introduced for 2020 alongside the refreshed second-generation Q3, the Sportback is built in Győr, Hungary and in FAW-VW’s Chinese plant in Changchun. Beyond the standard trim ladder, Audi offers a more rugged ‘Citycarver’ body-clad variant and a hotter RS Q3 Sportback with the 400 PS 2.5-litre five-cylinder from the TT RS.
