Introduced at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the Volkswagen Golf Mk6 is the sixth generation of Volkswagen's compact car, replacing the Golf Mk5. Produced from 2008 to 2012, it was later succeeded by the Golf Mk7. This generation continued Volkswagen's tradition of refining the Golf's formula.
History
The Volkswagen Golf Mk6 was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008 for the 2009 model year, marking a significant update to the Golf lineup. It built upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, the Golf Mk5.
Design
The Golf Mk6 retained a similar overall design language to its predecessor but with subtle revisions. Its dimensions were length 4200mm, width 1779mm, and height 1461mm, with a mass of 1217kg.
