Introduced in 1984, the Volkswagen Citi Golf is a right-hand drive version of the first-generation Volkswagen Golf Mk1, produced in South Africa for nearly 25 years. History

Design
The Citi Golf retained the core design of the Golf Mk1, with dimensions including a length of 3815mm, width of 1610mm, and height of 1395mm. As a 5-door hatchback, it was tailored for the right-hand drive market.
Generations
The Citi Golf was based on the first generation Golf Mk1. Although it was an older model, it received facelifts to keep it competitive in the South African market until the arrival of its successor, the Volkswagen Polo Mk4.
