History
The Suzuki Grand Vitara was launched in India in 2022, following the release of its rebadged counterpart, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, in July of the same year. The Grand Vitara effectively replaced the Suzuki S-Cross in the Indian market.
Design and Engineering
The Grand Vitara is a subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment) with dimensions measuring 4345mm in length, 1795mm in width, and 1635mm in height, with a mass of 1150kg. It is available with a range of mild and strong hybrid petrol powertrains.
Variants and Market Presence
The Grand Vitara is closely related to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, with the latter being released in additional markets such as South Africa and the Middle East in 2023. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder indirectly replaced the smaller Urban Cruiser, a rebadged Vitara Brezza.
