Škoda's 1203 van was the only Czech van car ever mass-produced, with around 70,000 units made between 1968 and 2010. Initially manufactured by AZV Škoda in Vrchlabí, production later moved to Trnava. The 1203 underwent modernizations, including a 1,433 cm³ engine introduction in 1985.
History
The Škoda 1203 was first produced from 1968 to 1981 in Vrchlabí. Production resumed five years later in a modernized form, with part of it moved to Trnava. By 1981, the entire production had shifted to Trnava. The van underwent further modernization in 1985.
Production
Around 70,000 Škoda 1203 units were produced. After the main production run, small-scale production continued in Žacléř by Ocelot Auto from 1994 to 2010.
Design and Specifications
The Škoda 1203 measured 4520mm in length, 1800mm in width, and 1900mm in height. It was available with different engines over its production life, including a 1,433 cm³ engine introduced in 1985.
