History
The Porsche WSC-95 was created from the Group C Jaguar XJR-14 by Tom Walkinshaw Racing and later modified by Porsche. Initially intended for the IMSA World Sportscar Championship, it saw limited racing action but achieved notable success at Le Mans.
Design and Development
The WSC-95 was based on the Jaguar XJR-14, a Group C racing car. Porsche modified it to compete as a Le Mans Prototype, and it was operated by Joest Racing. Later, the WSC-95 was upgraded to the Porsche LMP1-98 specification before being retired.
Legacy
Despite not being an official factory project, the Porsche WSC-95 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in both 1996 and 1997, marking a significant achievement in its racing history. Only two WSC-95 cars were ever built.
