The Pontiac G5 was a compact car sold by Pontiac, a rebadged variant of the Chevrolet Cobalt, introduced for the 2005 model year. It succeeded the Pontiac Sunfire. The G5 was available as a coupe and sedan.
History
The Pontiac G5 was based on the Chevrolet Cobalt, which replaced the Chevrolet Cavalier and the Geo/Chevrolet Prizm. The Cobalt, and by extension the G5, was part of General Motors' compact car lineup, utilizing the GM Delta platform.
Design and Variants
The Pontiac G5 was available in coupe and sedan body styles. It shared its platform with other GM models like the Chevrolet HHR and Saturn ION. The G5's width was 1725mm.
Legacy
The Pontiac G5 was eventually phased out as part of Pontiac's restructuring. It had no direct successor under the Pontiac brand, as Pontiac was discontinued by General Motors.
