Introduced in 1932, the Citroën Rosalie was a range of automobiles produced by Citroën until 1938, playing a significant role in the company's model lineup between the Citroën Type C4 and the Citroën Traction Avant.
History
The Citroën Rosalie range comprised three models: the 8CV, 10CV, and 15CV, named according to their fiscal horsepower. Initially launched in 1932, the lineup underwent modifications with the introduction of the Traction Avant in 1934, after which the two smaller models were redesignated as the 7UA and 11UA, adopting overhead-valve engines from the Traction.
Design and Engineering
The Rosalie range featured various engine options, including a 1,766 cc diesel engine in the 11UD model introduced from the 1933 model year. The cars had dimensions of 4690mm in length and 1720mm in width. Notably, a light-weight version of the Rosalie achieved records at the Montlhéry racing circuit.
Generations
The Rosalie evolved over its production run, with updates including the adoption of Traction Avant engines in the smaller models by the time of the 1934 Paris Salon. This marked a significant update in the model's engineering.
