Introduced in 1996, the Nissan Stagea is a station wagon produced by Nissan until 2007, primarily targeting the Japanese market in competition with the Subaru Legacy Touring wagon.
History
The Nissan Stagea was first produced in 1996 as a response to the Subaru Legacy Touring wagon in the Japanese market. It was sold exclusively through Nissan Prince Store Japanese dealerships.
Design and Engineering
The Stagea, specifically the WC34 sub-models, shares its floor-pan and mechanical components with the Nissan Laurel (C34). Some of its rear suspension components are also shared with the R32, R33, and R34 generations of Nissan Skyline.
Legacy
The Nissan Stagea was eventually succeeded by the Infiniti QX50, marking the end of its production run in 2007.
