Introduced at the DSEi trade show in London on 13 September 2007, the Jeep J8 is a militarised derivative of the civilian Wrangler, configured for everything from front-line operations to firefighting and underground mining.
Purpose & Uses
Built as a multi-role platform, the J8 serves military forces, peacekeeping units, government agencies and heavy industry worldwide. Mines, wildfire crews and security teams all employ its reinforced frame and higher payload capacity.
Under the Skin
Although launched atop the Wrangler JK architecture, the line now migrates to the newer JL platform. Assembly is handled by Africa Automotive Distribution Services Limited in Gibraltar, ensuring every chassis is tailored to mission-specific kits.
Variants & Deployment
Africa Automotive has developed a full spread of body styles—command vehicles, cargo carriers, ambulances and communications trucks—each tested for both forward-area and rear-echelon duties. Configurations can switch from soft-top patrol to hard-shell supply or armoured transport within the same production sequence.
