Jeep Gladiator

Unveiled at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show and sold from spring 2019, the Jeep Gladiator brought the brand back to the pickup market after a 27-year hiatus.
History
The Jeep Gladiator arrived as a 2020 model, re-establishing Jeep in the mid-size pickup segment for the first time since the Comanche ended production in 1992. Its predecessor was built from 1962–1988; the nameplate had been dormant for three decades.
Design & Platform
Built on the same chassis as the Wrangler JL, the Gladiator combines five-seat crew-cab styling with a separate cargo bed. At 5,537 mm long and 1,875 mm wide, it keeps the Wrangler’s upright windshield and rugged lines while adding 30 cm of extra wheelbase for payload duty.
Market Arrival
Spring 2019 sales launch followed the late-2018 reveal, slotting the Gladiator above traditional two-door Wranglers and just below full-size trucks. Early buyers saw no direct Jeep predecessor, although the limited-run AEV Brute had previewed a Wrangler-based pickup between 2013 and 2017.
