Cadillac STS-V

The Cadillac STS-V was the high-performance flagship of General Motors’ mid-size STS sedan line, produced between 2005 and 2011 to take on Europe’s V-8 executive saloons.
Engineering & Design
Sized at 5019 mm long, 1844 mm wide and 1478 mm tall, the STS-V cloaked its potent supercharged V-8 under sharp, North-American-skin lines that retained four usable doors yet signaled intent through a deeper front fascia, special alloy wheels, and discreet mesh grilles.
Market Positioning
Positioned above the standard STS, the ‘V’ variant aimed to erase perceptions that domestic brands couldn’t deliver German-tier performance and luxury in one package. It served as the halo for the STS line during its entire 2005-2011 run, with no direct successor when STS production concluded.
Regional Variants
While North American customers knew the V model as STS-V, mainstream STS sedans were stretched and sold through 2013 in China as the Cadillac SLS, extending the platform’s global footprint despite skipping the supercharged treatment there.
